About Fit4Seasons Maitake
Maitake, or Grifola Frondosa, is also known in the Netherlands as Eikhaas. The fungus mainly grows at the foot of deciduous trees such as the Oak. Maitake, which in Japanese means dancing mushroom, occurs in parts of Asia, America and Europe, including the Netherlands. They can be found in many colors and sizes: from white to brown to almost black. In Japan, specimens of up to 45 kg have even been found. This has given the Maitake the nickname “King of Mushrooms”, an absolute king!
Mushrooms have been used for millennia in Asian traditional medicine. With regard to Maitake, evidence has been found to indicate that the first use dates back more than 3000 years. And the fact that they were right in the Far East at that time once again proves once again. The Maitake is indispensable as a supplement because of the nutrients present, beta-glucans and fine properties, among other things.
